Velit represents a major breakkthrough in velocity modelling techniques. Traditional approches are combined with innovative state-of-the-art methods developed in conjunction with Dr. M. Al-Chalabi, a recognized expert on velocity.
Velit is normally used for depth converting time interpretations, but is equally relevant to obtaining true depth from pre- and post-stack depth migration.
Different elements of velocity information can be combined and analyed to build a robust velocity model. This model may then be used within VELIT to depth convert interpreted horizons with far greater confidence than has been possible to date. Scott Pickford (a Core Laboratories Company).
